No sign-up, no names, no email
There is no form to fill in before playing. Your child opens the page and presses Start race. The race asks for no name, no email address and no age, and it keeps no record of results. When the tab closes, the race is gone.
That also means there is no paid tier, no trial period and nothing to cancel. The full kids race is the free version.
What children play
The kids race is short and gentle. Children type two short, simple sentences while three slow opponents drive along beside them: a Turtle at 10 WPM, a Bicycle at 16 WPM and a Scooter at 22 WPM. A wrong letter makes their car wait until it is fixed. At the end they see their place, words per minute and accuracy.
Using it at home
Because there is no login to remember, a child can start a race on their own. Bookmark the page on a family computer so it is one click away. Siblings can take turns on the same device and compare places, since there is no saved scoreboard to argue over.
Using it in a classroom
Teachers can share the page address and let every child race at their own desk. No class codes, no rosters and no student accounts are needed, so there is no student data to manage. It runs in a modern browser on laptops, desktops and touchscreen devices. On a touchscreen, children tap the text to bring up the keyboard.
Since results are not saved, keep a paper chart if you want to track progress. A simple idea is a sticker for each opponent beaten: one for the Turtle, two for the Bicycle, three for the Scooter. Check that the site is allowed on your school network before a lesson.
